Hardware Mecca was established in March 1995 when the company bought all the assets of De Witt & Thaele Hardware (Pty) Ltd. Hardware Mecca currently has branches in Harrismith, Bethlehem and QwaQwa. Another company, Truss Mecca (Pty) Ltd was established in 1998 and specializes in the manufacturing and supplying of roof trusses according to the ITC standards. Brick Mecca, with a fully automated manufacturing plant of cement bricks and pavers was added to the group during 2013 and on 1 July 2021 Brick Mecca acquired a clay brick manufacturing plant in Harrismith. Quarry Mecca was established in 2017 in order to supply crushed stone.
Hardware Mecca is a family-owned company now in its second generation of management. The initial founder of the company serves as the director of the company and also provide valuable advice and guidance to the current management.

Roofing
Truss Mecca design and manufacture Roof Trusses to your specifications as per Institute for Timber Construction South Africa (ITC-SA) regulations and standards. We put high value in supplying only the best quality products.
Bricks and Paving
We manufacture cement and clay bricks. Cement bricks and pavers are manufactured in Bethlehem and the clay plaster bricks are manufactured at the Harrismith plant. We also supply a variety of face bricks from leading manufacturers all producing SABS approved bricks for all applications, including both domestic and industrial construction. These suppliers all have world class manufacturing plants and provide backup service and guarantees for all their products.
Company Profile
The core business of the company is the supply of building material and hardware to a wide range of customers. It supplied several emerging contractors with building material in a number of multimillion low cost housing projects, while it also became the preferred local supplier of large national and provincial contractors doing projects in the Eastern Free State. This became possible due to the company striving to be more than just a supplier but rather be a supporting “partner”.
Its ability to supply almost a full range of quality building materials at competitive prices coupled to excellent service through its substantial business infrastructure resulted in Hardware Mecca becoming a one stop supply shop for the small, medium and large contractor.
The current management is working towards growth of the company in the Eastern Free State and adjacent areas by expanding the range of products and the customer base and currently has branches in Harrismith, Bethlehem and QwaQwa.
It has already established a fully operational cement brick manufacturing plant with a manufacturing capacity of more than 120 000 stock bricks per day and crushing plant producing 19mm stone, builders mix and Crusher Dust. Operations was expanded by acquiring a clay plaster brick manufacturing plant during 2021.
